A creepy world is an autobiographic novel about a healthy, divorced, single mother, who gets a long-lasting psychosis, loses control of her own life, mistreats her children and herself, throws away everything that’s valuable, precious, and irreplaceable. She completely neglects herself, starves herself out, and isolates herself. Eventually she is admitted into the psychiatric ward of the hospital for a long period of time, through a judicial authorization, and has to live without her children for many years. This book illustrates the thin line between ‘normal’ and ‘crazy’ and confronts everyone who has to face this reality: everybody can get a psychosis and lose complete control of his or her life, due to which you do things you have to live with afterwards, but actually cannot live with. A creepy world is about this world where you are alone, despite all the help that’s available, and in which you can become a victim of a care system that doesn’t function adequately because of a lack of vision, collaboration, master plans, sense of responsibility, and empathy, to be able to look further than the (badly) functioning protocols.
