Project management is since many years a topic in the world of information and communication technology. Many books, courses and seminars focus on a most effective and efficient development and implementation of information systems and technical infrastructures. At the same time numerous publications contain sad stories about failing projects and results. Time consuming, budget exceedings and not coming up to expectations are lifted out and overgrow rightly or wrongly many successful projects and its final results. Six years Ghana 2002-2008 presents a tough and interesting journey that started from zero and resulted into `Osei Tutu II Institute for Advanced ICT Studies, Ghana. It's an example of successful project management embedded in many difficult and complicated circumstances that nonetheless converged to an Institute that offers a two-year Master of Science programme in advanced ICT studies, for the benefit of Ghana and other African countries.
